OK. I remember the name of the catnip in food wax toy. It is called Pawbreakers.

Here is the link.

Like I said, my little ones loved them, but I could not keep them around as Missy would eat them.

I might see about ordering one or two next time I place an order with Petfooddirect.... they carry them too according to the link you provided. Thanks. (Need some more Kitty Kaviar for Mr. Sparky too.... fussy little thing he is....)

I got a few bags about a year ago somewhere online thinking Molly and Jeremy would love them. Well, they wouldn't go near them no matter how I tried to entice them. I even chipped some of the outer part off of one of the balls thinking maybe they could smell them better. Nope! They totally ignored them. I finally gave them away. Actually I included the unopened bags in the about.com cat swap (silly me ordering more than a trial bag).

My two are strange eaters though - they may actually enjoy them today. They seem to change their minds about what they will eat at times.

My cats change their minds about certain foods and treats too... Sparky DID actually eat a treat that wasn't Kitty Kaviar on ONE occasion.... can't get him to do it again though... He is a little Catnip junky though.... well...so is Peaches..... those to are always trying to sniff some out somewhere.... have to keep the stuff well hidden around here or it's all over the place.

Laughing Molly has to "eat" the catnip. When she sees me getting it out and putting it in a toy, she waits for me to put some on the floor so she can eat it. She does play with the toy, but begs for more to eat. Silly girl.

YES!!!! Shocked Mine eat it too!!!! Especially Sparky.... Muffin and Milo like to lay on it after they roll around on it for a while.... Peaches like to do both - eat and roll. I suppose it's ok for them to eat it - they eat the fresh stuff like grass and you can buy fresh catnip (growing in a pot) at PetSmart.... I should buy the fresh stuff one of these days just to see what they will do with it....

Actually, I still need to get some spray catnip so I can spray it on the sisal rope scratcher thing and on some of the toys they have and I need some new dry catnip as well.... SOMEBODY whose name I will not mention Peaches, tore a few holes in the only bag I have and now it's all over my stuff.... Sparky fished it out of a drawer and thats when that little somebody started tearing into it.

I'll be heading off to PetSmart within the next two Saturdays... I need to restock my litter supply anyway.

Odd, this is now showing up as a "new" message for me. But that is good since I seem to have missed it way back when.

Eating catnip is fine for cats. When they eat it, it does not cause the same stimulating effects as from them smelling it. Of course before it goes in their mouths, they do smell it. It seems that eatien catnip acts more like a sedative, but that would probably be after the effects of smelling it wear off.

We were given some catnip "pillows" for our cats for Christmas. Simon tore two open and ate the catnip inside. I hope he didn't also ingest any of the stuffing, which then could possibly cause a blockage concern. So some catnip filled toys could become a danger for cats if the cat rips it apart to eat the catnip inside. Probably the more expensive catnip toys are made more "cat proof".
