KITTEN CARE

Bringing a young kitten into your home can be both exciting
and a little daunting. Discover how with the correct kitten
care you can encourage your new kitten to develop into an
affectionate, loyal and fun-loving friend.

Kittens are very interesting to watch for they love to
entertain us with their endless charm. There is never a
dull moment. The early months of a kitten's life is very
important and a lot of care is needed. How the kitten
develops will be the outcome of them as adult cats.

Quick Tips:

Never pick them up by the scruff of the neck

Never give cows milk to young kittens

Never take kittens away from mother until at least six
weeks (moderator note: kittens should stay with their mothers for 12 weeks, 8 at the absolute minimum)

Never take kittens outdoors until after one week of
vaccination.

Kittens should never be taken from their mothers any younger than 8 weeks at a minimum, but should stay with their mothers and littermates for 12 weeks. There are very important reasons for that. Read why at:

It is also illegal in many states to sell or adopt out kittens and puppies less than 8 weeks of age.

Many cats are lactose intolerant, so one should not give even adult cats cow's milk. However, one can buy special lactose free milk sold for cats, such as CatSip.

Nicole, that link you gave is not to that article. Please post a working link to the original source. Also, please remember you can't copy and paste an entire article, even if you give the link. You can only give a few sentences, then post the link to the rest of the article.

That's o.k. Maria.

Just click on the website. Scroll down until you get to hme and garden, and cat nips is on the left hand column. Then, click on "you can read sample here."
