Ranger the Brave!

On Monday night, a line of thunderstorms rolled through my area. It was a little hard to believe. The ground was covered in snow, the rivers were jammed with ice, and I’m having thunderstorms.

Needless to say, this was Gracie’s first experience with thunderstorms. She was a bit unnerved by the “booms”.

Ranger the Brave came to the rescue. While all the cats (other than Evan, who can’t hear the thunder), were hiding, Ranger, who was, I’m quite sure, very concerned that Daddy, Evan and Gracie were scared, jumped up into bed with me (and Evan, Gracie was in her crate at the side of the bed). He stayed with us, protecting us from the nasty and loud booms and flashes.

Once the booms and flashes were finished, and Ranger knew that Daddy, Evan and Gracie were no longer scared, he was on his way, napping in his favorite spot upstairs.

Thank goodness I have Ranger the Brave. I would not have know what to have done about the scary flashes and booms!

Daddy, by flashes and booms scared, one each

We had thunderstorms too but nobody seemed bothered by it at our house and usually, Snowball (the dog who actually had to be muzzled at the vets office because he was growling when the doc tried to pet him on Thursday last week) is a basket case with thunder and lightening. He starts panting and drooling and his eye's get "wild" and he doesn't know where to go or what to do... he starts runnning from one end of the house to the other and we have to yell at him to "sit down". For some reason, he was not fazed that day. I wonder why.....

I'm glad you had Ranger to protect you though Mark.... what with all the pain you have in your shoulder you might not have been able to protect yourself! Wink
