Beautiful pictures, Alisha! Wow! so many kitties to fall in love with. I don't know how you do it, but I think you were born for this! You do a great job, and I give you a lot of credit for all the efforts you put forth to help these kitties.

Thanks for sharing some of your pictures here..........they're a lot of fun to see.

GG, I really really enjoyed seeing my pictures on your website! That one of Nique is my favorite, awww, I miss him. I'm glad you were able to use them. Your website is really coming along, what a great resource for people! I have to say, it's much more interesting than the about website which is mostly text. I love that you have pictures to support and describe what you are talking about. Good job!

Jill, it's much easier volunteering at my shelter because the cats have it really good. They aren't in tiny cages alone. It's a very pleasant place for most cats, really. The key is not paying too close attention or getting attached to one. I just go once a week and the cats come in and out and I just assume the ones I really liked got adopted.

Animalangel, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! Cats definitely keep me busy. I feed about 40 a week, plus my shelter volunteering, and trapping. But it's fantastic, makes life much more interesting. And I meet a lot of people too! In fact, when I brought my car in for servicing I recognized the girl from when she visited the shelter! It's a small island and now so many people look familiar....I can just assume it's because they were at the shelter. It connects you to the community which is great.

Thanks, Alisha. Very Happy I have a lot of pages to convert to the new template. It takes a long time due to the difference in how they are coded. I'm glad you were happy to see your pictures on my website, Alisha. I do want to use more.

I like that too. It makes things seem less monotonous and gives the eyes a little rest from the print. I purposely took pictures of my cats in some situations with the intention of using them to help illustrate an article I wrote or intended to write someday.

Most of the pictures really are my cats doing what I discuss, such as in my Integrating Cats article, Simon really is sniffing the scent of a new cat in this picture, as claimed in the article:

Michelle, that is Simon sniffing Sparky's scent!

From the same article, this pic below is Simon really "rubbing out" the scent of a new cat, and was, again, Sparky's scent!

Needless to say, Simon and Sparky never did get integrated by the time Michelle adopted Sparky.

Back to Alisha's kitten pics, I intend someday to do an article on why to adopt kittens in pairs (or threesomes, quartets!), so there are some great pics now to help illustrate that! Oh, and showing how in nature, kittens will still nurse even when they are older than 6 weeks old! I have to use that pic of the kitten draped over his mother. Laughing

And, yes, Alisha, you are very busy!

So Alisha....with all the work you are doing with the cats - are you still teaching too???? How do you find the time for all of this???? (I really love all those kittens but I keep looking at the little grey and white one you are holding up in that one picture.... reminds me of my Peaches!!!) (Peaches is in my avatar)

Margaret - there are days when I would like to "rub out Sparky's scent" too lately.... that boy can be quite the monster. I guess Simon had the right idea! Laughing

GG: I would love for you to use more of my pictures. Let me know if you are looking for anything specific. I have pictures of a one year old cat nursing on a neutered male, LOL! My cats are crazy. And I really enjoy reading your articles and seeing pictures of YOUR cats doing exactly what you are talking about. I'm sure you miss Simon a lot, it's great he can live on through your website. Also, I really believe you are the number ONE cat resource on the Internet, someone a regular person can actually converse with.

Michelle: Yes I am teaching too! This week I am off and I needed the vacation! I teach K-8 social studies and reading in three classrooms...it's a small private school with 50 students. A school wide project I did will be featured in our private school magazine that covers several states. I was also asked to be the head teacher for our new reading program for grades 3-4. So I am learning a lot and becoming a high quality teacher which is my dream.
