There's nothing wrong with going to two different vets, Maria...in fact, that could be a good thing if and when you need a second opinion to already have a "stand-by" vet familiar with your cats.

Just use vet #1 most of the time because he charges you less, is more personable, etc. and because he's so thorough, and use vet #2 only if vet #1 won't give you prednisone since he charges you more and is not as personable. (I think I got that right.... did I? I'm in the edit screen and I can't look back at your messages to review.)

Michelle,

Yes, you got it right. I know it's ok to go to 2 vets, but I wonder if it's not such a good "practice" to use 2 different vets if they're in the same practice. I know they are careful about not talking over what one of the other vets prescribe or about any advice another vet gives. I would be afraid I might get in the middle of something. It's a little more difficult to be discreet when the vets work together.

Ok Maria... I see your point but on the other paw, it could be better to have two vets in the same practice who could "consult" with their combined knowledge of the same animal. Think: "Two heads are better than one".

OR, you could ask Vet #1 for his opinion when you go to see him. He may be close to that other vet and it could work out great for you. OR, he could tell you (or you might sense) that vet 1 and vet 2 do not get along and then you could go elsewhere for your second opinions.....

Me? I would come right out and ask Vet #1 his thoughts since he would probably be the one you would stick with if you had to drop one.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Hopefully we can have a rational conversation about Jeremy's EG.

Thanks Michelle.
