Daddy says I is a good boy last night.

Gracie, she is my new puppy sister, and she likes to run around alot. Daddy letted her out of the kitchen and she was running down the hall cause she is silly.

Well, Evan, he is my older brother. He is real old and goes realy slow and does not like to run around. He likes to sleep on daddy's bed in the day, but I still come and sleep on daddy's bed when daddy goes sleepytime.

Anyway, Gracie runned down the hall to Evan, cause she wants to play rough with Evan. I play rough with Gracie and she likes it. I get to punch her in the nose and she still wants to play more. Puppies are so silly.

Well, so, Gracie runned down the hall to Evan, and Evan, he don't like that so he curls up into a ball. Now, I don't want Gracie to hurt Evan cause she is so big and Evan is not, so I jump right in front of Evan and arch my back and stick up my tail and hiss at her real loud. Gracie then runned away.

Well, Daddy saw this and now he thinks I is a good boy.

I don't want to be a good boy, I wants to be a monster cause good boys can't jump on things, and get in the sink, and try to eat daddy's food, and chase Dusty and run up the stairs really fast and punch the squirty thingie . Monsters can do that but not good boys - so I is going to tell daddy that I is a monster, not a good boy.

That is so cool that Pippin was helping Evan. Or, maybe not. Maybe he was being a monster, and just found a good opportunity to scared Gracie while she was distracted!

Pippin - Jeremy here. Wow! I never saw a doggie and only pictures of Gracie. How brave! I would have run away. You're really brave to live with such a strange animal. I was thinking and wondering what I would do if it was Molly. Maybe I would save her. After all, when I was locked in a room all day, Molly screamed so loud at mommy when she came home. She wouldn't stop until Mommy found out I was missing and found me. That made Molly happy. But then Molly didn't look as happy when I got so many treats, pets, hugs, kisses and happy words. Go figure.

Hey there Pippin the MONSTER !! Sparky the BAD here....

Hey, don't tell the others but you really didded a really good thing . Monsters can be good sometimes. You were bein a monster to Gracie cause you scared her , it just happens that you were helping Evan at the same time and Evan is sick so he needs help sometimes. I'm very proud of you.

See, you can still be a monster all you want , just like me, but even my mommy tells me that I am a good boy too lots of times. It helps to be a good boy if you wants treats. Did your daddy give you treats for being a good boy for Evan's sake? If not, then your daddy was bad which I find would be hard to believe cause your daddy is a pretty cool guy . I sure hope you got lots of treats for protecting Evan the way you did. If you didn't, then you can comed to my house and I will share some Kitty Kaviar with you. It's really good fishy flakes stuff. Mmmm.......

So, go ahead and get in the sink, and try to eat daddy's food, and chase Dusty and run up the stairs really fast and punch the squirty thingie all you want . And keep protecting Evan (and Ranger too if he needs it). It just goes to show you is a big boy now cause you know how to pick when to be good and when to be bad and that's a good thing to be.

O, goodie. I don’t know that I can be a monster and a good boy at the same time.

Daddy don’t give me any treats when I scared Gracie from Evan. So, I going to bopp daddy in the nose or bite his toes when he goes sleepytime. That will learn daddy to give me treats when I is a good boy.

Daddy gives Gracie treats, but Gracie has to do a sit or a down to get one. Gracie’s treats smell good, so I chew the invisible thing to get them. I get gypped, ‘cause when I get the treat, it is yucky. I think it is a mean trick by daddy and Gracie. Maybe cause Gracie eats poopoo is why her treats is yucky. I ain’t going to eat poopoo, not even for a fishy treat.

Daddy sometimes gived me greenie treats. All my kitty brothers and sisters like them, even Dusty, and she is a girl! Gracie likes them too, and daddy gives her big greenie treats when he knows she eats poopoo cause it makes her not stink bad.

When I is a good boy, I thinks I can be a bigger monster and do more bad things. So, I goin’ wake daddy up when he goes sleepytime cause daddy sleeps to long. Maybe I runin’ into the garage where daddy takes Gracie but don’t take me. It ain’t fair that daddy take Gracie to garage and he don’t take me. I is here longer and I is older and Gracie is only a puppy and I is a kitty. So, I is going to be mean to daddy ‘till he take me in the garage!.

I know what I do to get back at daddy. When daddy comb me, I is going to bit him. Now, I like combing by daddy, but I know daddy like to comb me too, so if I bit him he will be sad and I can be a big monster again! Then I can do a good boy thing and make daddy really confused!

Dear Pippin the Monster,

I think your idea to bited your daddy's toes and bop him in the nose is a good plan. Maybe when he's combeden you, you can bop him then instead of biteden his nose.

I don't like greenies...... I only eats fishy flakes. Mommy has to buy them special for me even though I am a bad monster kitty lots of the times. She must loved me alot to buy them special for me. The other kitty's eated them too but mommy gives them other treats instead and only I gets the fishy flakes cause mommy says they cost lots of money that we don't have. Mommy buys the other kitty's soft treats from the grocery store that they like lots. Especially Muffin. She even tries to steal everybody elses treats so Mommy has to keep Muffin at a distance when treats are given.

Anyway, Mommy is at work now and daddy is waiting to play his computer game so I haf ta go. Don't forget to lick daddy's toes just before you bite them! That's how I do it. It makes him think he is "safe" and then I go in for the kill. Hehehehe..... Pretty sneaky, huh????

Daddy Reports that The Monster did not bopp me in the nose or bite my toes.

He did curl up into a ball and take a long nap with me last night.

I think his "bad" behavior is more in the realm of fiction than fact.

They will defend each other. Brother used to defend the the others often when they were running loose. Hopefully it will just be limited. I have a situation that is getting close to needing some intervention. Starburst started to enjoy pulling tufts of Splash's long hair out. Splash of course did not approve. Domino is very prtective of Splash and went after Starburst in Splash's defense. It has now gotten to the point that Domino will often chase Starburst just to be aggressive. Thankfully it seems self limited to a day of aggression that runs its course and does not resurface for several weeks, but the periods are getting more frquent.

Hi Ron:

I though the event was intersting, since Pippin is the cat most likely to "bopp" Evan or to give him some grief.

Outside of that event, everyone gets along here pretty well.

Ron- Maybe the cats are experiencing "cabin fever" even though they can go out into their enclosure. Maybe it's just spring coming and them knowing it. (ok, I'm grasping at straws here but Sparky's getting a bit more wild lately here too. There has to be one common reason, doesn't there????)
