I had an amazing morning. I fought three cats for a bird and won. I was in bed when I heard a huge ruckus outside and when I looked out the window, I saw Boots with a bird in her mouth. I said, aww poor thing, and was going to go back to bed when I realized the bird was very much alive, very afraid, and suffering. He got away once and was screaming and wobbling away on foot but of course, he got nabbed again. I had to run outside, crawl under my neighbour's truck in my pajamas, in the rain, at 7:30am, and take him from Tulip's mouth. He seemed dead for awhile but perked up and continued to look better.

By the time I decided to take him to the shelter, he was strong enough to make me chase him around the bathroom so I could put him in a carrier. The shelter was going to euthanize because they don't work with birds so I called The Boo Boo Zoo and they said they could take him. I cancelled my plans to go to church and drove in the opposite direction toward Haiku. It is very beautiful up there, I felt like I was in the jungle. It was rainy and lush. It felt good to get away from the usual.

I was so amazed by the animal sanctuary and enjoyed spending time with the MANY animals there. Their website accepts donations and I'll be sending money to help with the Myna bird. I hope he makes it. I could not fit all the pictures in one message so made a slideshow of more than 50 pictures. Enjoy!

I hope the bird will be ok.

That is wonderful you have a place nearby such as the Booboo Zoo!

I enjoyed the slide show. Thanks for sharing! Very Happy

I've never heard of the Boo Boo Zoo before. That's great though! Not that the bird got attacked, but that there's a place to bring it to get help. Smile
