An unusual event in my house - I found a wet food that all of the cats ate: Wellness Shrimp, sardines and crab. Even Dusty ate (some) of it.
Little Bit and Ranger gobbled it up. Dusty and Pippin were a bit more picky with the food, but ended up eating most of it.
I would like to transition the cats off of the Friskies Ocean Whitefish and Salmon flavors onto higher quality brands (like Wellness and Eagle Pack). I’ll have to re-try some of the Eagle Pack flavors and see how things go.
I have discovered that the 13 oz cans really do not work well. Even though I put a lid on the can and heat it when I serve the leftovers, Dusty and Little Bit will not eat it. Ranger and Pippin usually will.
I will never understand the feeding of cats!
At least Evan is a good little boy – he always eats his Wellness turkey with turkey baby food or chicken with chicken baby food.

I'm glad you found something that seems to suit all taste buds Mark. I almost wish mine was a picky eater. I have to keep everything...drinks and all...completely out of her reach or she'll get into it. Even coffee, which is NOT good for a cat.
I hope the common appetites hold up for you! _________________

Mark - I'm glad they all found one food that they like!! That's a feat in itself. As for weaning them off the Friskies.... Precise seafoods are a HUGE hit here with my entire crew..... maybe you could try some of those. Does your local store carry any Precise? _________________ Michelle |

Michelle:
My local stores do not carry Precise. I have one can left over from an order I made via Petfooddirect.
I tried to reorder it, but it never shipped and the company cancelled the order.
When I opened the can, it usually went pretty well here.

Mark,
That's a good sign! I hope the all continue to like it.

You said a "mouthful" there! (pardon the pun).
My two are like the "Bobsy Twins" and they always like and/or dislike the same foods at the same time. They seem to come to some kind of agreement ahead of time when they get something new - they either both like it - or not! Thankfully they have been eating Wellness Lamb and Turkey wet for over a year now. Trying out different foods with Jeremy was challenging (thanks again Mark for all those samples).
The final episode of the saga was "what goes around comes around" as now they're both back to what they were eating before Jeremy got his EG - and he is apparently not allergic to it. I'm beginning to think his EG is stress related.
BTW, does Gracie ever eat their food? I mean, does she try?
Good luck!

Hi Maria:
She tries, but I strongly discourage it.

Mark - did petfooddirect say why they cancelled your order for Precise???? I need to order some here in the next two weeks or so and I'm curious. _________________ Michelle |

Michelle:
Going back, it was the Precise Dry food that was cancelled. The message indicated that PFD did not know when they would be able to get the dry food from manufacturer.
I might call and confirm that the wet is in stock before you order. At least they did not charge my credit card. Some places will charge your card and wait until the order is cancelled before giving you a refund!

Oh, ok Mark. Good idea. I'll give them a call to see if they have it in stock before I order. I was concerned about the wet food only but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for letting me know. _________________ Michelle |
