I thought it would be awhile longer before I posted, but I guess I decided going to bed could wait.
I joined this forum awhile ago, and at the time had my beloved puppy...although he was actually a 15 year old dog. He has been put to sleep several months ago, a new puppy, that has a frighteningly close resemblences now resides in my parents' house which, is amazingly wonderful, and I now have an adorable littley kitty, with me in my apt, for the first time ever.
She is about 7 weeks old now (app 3-4 weeks old in the pics) and her name is Kilalah (pronounced kee-lah-lah)
I hope I treat her well, as this is my first cat ever. Did I already say that?
Anyway...I need to take some new pictures as she has nearly doubled in size since, but here's from a couple weeks ago:
p.s. I should mention it was not by choice that I recieved her so young. One of my co-workers/college classmates found her outside their apartment and were unable to keep her. I gladly said yes upon the offer to take her in and make her my own. _________________

Hello Kate! Glad to see you back here with a kitty! Kilalah is adorable! They do grow quickly though! So take lots of pictures. By the time she is 12 weeks old, she will be a lot larger!
I'm not sure how much you know, so I do want to tell you to make sure to leave dry kitten food out for her while you are at work and also at night. Since the young kittens grow so incredibly quickly, but still have small stomachs, they need to eat frequently. Let her eat as much as she wants.
Do also feed at least one canned meal a day, as dry only diets are bad for cats. _________________ Margaret, a/k/a Galensgranny |

Hi Kate!!! Welcome back!!!!! What a beautiful little kitty you have!!! She looks to be doing quite well for one so young away from her mother. Did you have to bottle feed her at first or was she already weaned? Are you considering getting her a little playmate to play with for when you are not home? _________________ Michelle |

Thank you Margaret! I have been trying to get a few pictures here and there. I just have to get them uploaded now.
I will have to look into getting some canned kitty food for her. I've been making kitty gruel out of IAMS kitty food. I do leave extra out of her during the day, and I re-soften and warm it up for her several times throughout the morning and evening when I am home. My apt manager is also a cat lover, so she goes in and checks on her during the day a couple times a week.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the compliments on Kilalah! When I got her she was actually doing really well with the kitty gruel I made for her, so I never had to bottle feed her. The sounds she made when she ate was so cute though because she would have suck on the food before eating it.
I would love to have a playmate for her, but unfortunately I cannot afford it currently. I can barely afford her right now with the vet visits, apt deposit fee and of course kitty necessesities, but am doing my best because she needed a loving home, and I really missed having an animal around to play and cuddle with.

Thank you Nicole!
I really need to get some newer pictures of Kilalah uploaded to my photobucket account before I go to the parents' house for the holidays. Their ancient computer will never get the job done! _________________

Wow Kate! How awesome is she! Oh my, don't we all that those kitties!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful news. And I'm SURE you will "treat her right" with all that love in your heart!
I'm sorry about your puppy. That has to be very difficult. I hope Kilalah brings you a lot of love and joy. I'm sure she will.
Keep posting those pictures so we can all enjoy her.

Thank you for the thoughtful response Maria! I actually do have some more pictures to share this time
These are a few more baby kitty pictures I wanted to share of her when she was still teeny tiny. I should also mention, they are all clickable thumbnails, so if you'd like to see them slightly larger, but not too large, just click on them.

Now I feel I should introduce these next few pictures with a quick little anecdote. As I mentioned in the first post on this thread, my parents got a new little shih tzu named macki back in August because we had to put my beloved Chocolate to sleep. Well here is a baby puppy picture of him, and then following are pictures of Macki meets Kilalah just this past weekend. It was so wonderful because they're both in puppy and kitty mode which includes playfulness overload. It's becuase of this that I think they actually got along so well! Not to mention Macki is a smaller dog. They loved playing with eachother. I guess this morning before I was awake, Kilalah and Mackie were both playing tug of war with the same sock! Too bad I missed it. But here are a few other pictures of their debut together.

Ok, lastly here are just a couple pictures of Kilalah as she is now. I still can't believe how quickly she has grown when I look at those first pictures I took of her.

These are such awesome pictures. You kitty is so sweet! And Macki is adorable. I'm glad the two babies got along so well. You certainly must have enjoyed that time together.
My favorite pictures are - 1) the lantern picture - and the "glow" and 2) the one where Kilalah is in the corner and Macki is looking at her (and visa versa. You could name that one "kittycorner" Kittycornered" or something like that. Very very cute - all of them. Thanks for sharing them with us.
