brent That Pippin is a riot. Are you sure he isn't related to Sparky? That sounds soooo much like what the Sparkster would do. Laugh(LBG)

Apparently, Pippin and Sparky ARE related in spirit. Wonder how horrific a meeting of the two would be???? Scary thought, huh?

I guess that when Sparky was in line to be born in Heaven he got in the line for spunk and trouble making a couple extra times.....when it was time to be born, he overflowed and couldn't take it all with him and it fell on Pippin who waited a bit longer to be born.....and now he is yours..... great imagination I have, isn't it?

Mark, I finally caught up with reading your posts. I love how you write about your cats and Pippin. Pippin is a riot! Seamus has a touch of him and Sparky in him.

Quote:
He likes his Catsip. In fact, he likes it so much that last night, I found him on the dryer with an open container of Catsip. The little stinker managed to open the container (by busting it, of course) and is licking up the Catsip that spilled out.

Well, Pippin, the little stinker, is up to his fun and games again!

Concerned that Daddy might be sleeping in too late in the morning, Pippin has found two new ways to wake Daddy up: The Claw and The Shred.

For “The Claw”, Daddy has to be sleeping on his belly. When Pippin sees Daddy sleeping like this, he fully extends his claws. Then, he makes an intrepid jump from the floor to the bed, making sure to sink the claws deep into the soles of Daddy’s feet. If he does it right, Pippin can make red stuff come out of Daddy’s foot and Daddy wakes up real fast.

For ‘The Shred” Pippin lies upside down under the bed. Fully extending his claws, he rakes them across the underside of the box spring, right where the bedding comes from on top to the floor. The quicker he does it, the more noise he makes, until daddy gets up.

Pippin just does not understand why Daddy wants to sleep after the sun comes up. I mean, Daddy could be fixing Pippin’s breakfast if he were not taking it easy in bed!

Sparky has taken to waking me up as well (I don't know WHY he lets his daddy sleep though...) Anyway, he likes to climb up on top of me as I sleep and then make biscuits. Thankfully I have a cotton thermal blanket on and a flannel sheet to shield me from everything except the very tips of his claws..... Of course, I have a 10 lb Sparky standing ON me while he does it too..... It doesn't matter what position I am sleeping in for this - the weight of him and the claw tips are quite enough to wake me regardless.

If you remember way back in the beginning of Pippin’s tale, I was planning on giving him to a coworker. Because of Pippin’s ringworm (yea, right - I’ll keep on believing that story), the potential adoption did now work out.

Eventually, she adopted a kitten, a gray tabby. So, she tells me how the kitten, while outside, climbed up the tree last night. They could not, for safety reasons, get him until the sun rose. This morning, she was and got him safely out of the tree (at 5:00 am)

While kitten is fine, and happy to be in her arms, I had to do my best not to be upset. As the conversation wound down, I asked is she ever considered keeping him as an inside only kitty. She did not think it would be “fair” to the kitty not to go outside under “supervised” conditions. (Question – how supervised was the condition that ended up with a kitten stuck in a tree overnight)?

So, this makes me very happy that Pippin had ringworm when he was little!

Hm..... I would have been up that tree regardless how dark it was outside. There was no reason to leave the kitten up there all night long. Some people just aren't meant to be "parents". I'm glad the kitten is ok and is safe back in the house (for now at least).

Pippin sure lucked out, didn't he? Who knew that having ringworm could be a blessing in disguise?
