Sam is ok. He got a paw tangled in the cord and was hanging off the floor. From what I was told, he let out a very loud cry and was quickly rescued. I’m just concerned that little one will wrap the cord around his neck!

OMG! How scary! Yes, toys with long cords are dangerous to be left with small kittens unattended. Dangle toys with a toy heavier than the cord are dangerous to all cats left unattended with them, as the toy part can wind up whipping the cord around a cat's neck.

So Michelle, I guess that is why that fabric star dangle toy Sparky loved came with such a short cord, so that kind of accident couldn't happen.

I suppose that is true. I still have that large box (for the 42 inch snow thrower attachment) in the living room and that dangle toy is attached to the box on a corner. Mostly Sparky and Peaches play with it but Muffin has occupied herself with it on occasion and I did see Milo go over and check it out.

Alas, the box itself - thanks to Sparky - probably won't be here much longer. He's torn all the corners wide open and I have it duct taped to the max trying to hold it together. Once this last corner goes, I'm not sure it will stay together well - the duct tape isn't holding very well. They've been playing with that box since November. Muffin even slept in it - on one of those lambswool beds you saw when I picked up Sparky - last night.

The dangle toy on the corner is a never ending source of amusement for them though - you should see Sparky and Peaches FLY through the air trying to grab it!!! Laughing
