Boy, are you ever silly! I'm not coming to visit your house, I'm coming to visit your cats Besides, your home was comfortable last time I visited - perfect homes make me nervous...I worry that I might track dirt or leave cat hair on the furniture.
ohhhhhh! You are going to plant rare Tibetian dandelions just for me?!? You are just SO good to me.
Lon will be happy to hand out special Galen treats, what should we bring? TBH, what should we buy because we will be on the bike and won't have a lot of room to pack. I could prolly manage a can or 2 of Trader Joe's tuna for cats but not much more.

I'm flattered, thank you. I did enjoy meeting you last time but certainly understand work constraints. Dang about the 6 day week, sure hope there is overtime involved.

That was how ours were with the lino in our last place. Its different here, all of them know how to run without sliding, but the younger ones like to slide in play.
| Quote: | | when Marty was here, he used this sliding skill to stay away from Simon when Simon was chasing him. |
I'll bet that was a LOT of fun to watch
Back to the original topic...Mr 20 has stopped jumping. His leg seems to be recovered, I'm pretty sure its his sight. When he wants to get on a chair or the bed, he stands up on his back feet and looks before hopping up.
When we go for our morning walkies, he turns into Mr. Flat Cat and goes after the quail until they fly into the cypress then he sits up and moves his head around trying to focus on them.
I'm sad for him.
I know that this isn't really a health issue at all and I will do my best to see to it that his quality of life doesn't suffer...but I'm still sad. |

Oh, that's too bad. But good about his leg.

I agree. You don't have to worry about any of that at my house! With six cats, any cat hair you might by chance leave will not be noticed at all. I took out the light beige carpet that was in the living room after I wound up tracking in dirt on it so many times. A beige carpet by the front door is not a good thing. My welcome mat outside does not get off clay mud very well, I discovered when running in to answer the phone after doing stuff out in the yard (planting those rare Tibetian dandelions ) So you can march right on in without worrying about tracking in any dirt.

Nothing. Lon can hand out the bonito flakes we will already have. I now order big bags from an online oriental store.

You're not riding the bike all the way from AZ, are you! _________________ Margaret, a/k/a Galensgranny |

I'm sorry too.. Things just aren't fair sometimes!
I'm glad he still enjoys watching and semi-stalking the quail though.
Hey if you guys come near North Carolina on your trip in June, let me know. I'd love to finally meet someone on the forum!
And who knows, you might actually get to catch a glimpse of Sammy before he makes a mad dash to hide under my bed. lol _________________ Stephanie, mom to

*breathes sigh of relief*
I haven't been able to post here for a while, but have been able to post otherwhere. I didn't think that I had done anything ban worthy, but my spelling is enough to make my Mom correct my emails and send them back...

Life isn't fair. That's just the way it is.
Once my Dad told me this story: A new dad with a toddler put his son on the table and told him to jump into his arms. The son jumped, the dad caught the boy, kissed him and told him that "This is how life should be."
Dad put the boy back on the table and told him to jump again. The boy jumped and dad stepped back and let him fall. While dad was wiping his son's tears away he said "This is how life really is."
Dad was right.

Now see, this is one of the reasons that its so hard to tell about his vision. Cypress trees are just big bushes and when a big cat tries to climb one, there isn't anything to grab. We had many funny moments watching our big boy learning this.
Well, 2 funny times, Mr 20 is a smart cat and has never tried to climb a cypress after his second attempt.

Much as I'd love to meet up with you, this trip is scheduled and planned from the start and we won't be in NC. Are you anywhere near Camp Lajune? A couple of my adopted Marines will be coming back from Iraq in Feb., maybe we could meet by proxy?

No, I'm going to be riding b---- with Lon. I'm really not ready for a long distance group ride. Formation riding is very hazardous when one is riding with strangers and I get nervous enough when I ride with Lon.
(thats because he rides behind me so I don't feel rushed, but I'm afraid that I'll get smooshed in front of his eyes and he'll go to jail for killing someone. Lon's a rational guy, if he saw me getting smooshed behind him, he'd calm down enough to not go to jail by the time he got turned around. Or maybe not.)
I can see things goinmg bad with my puter, so have to stop.
We will be in Hurricane on May 24, Lewisburg on the 25th and Arlington on the 26/27. Tell us what stop will be closer and we will be there around dinner time. |

Of course not! There was something wrong with the server the forum is hosted on, with the forum not being available on and off for a few days. I think maybe an automatic email might get sent if someone is banned. I don't really know. I wonder if I can unban people? I will experiment. But not with you
Hurricane is closest to me. You guys are not staying long in any one place! _________________ Margaret, a/k/a Galensgranny |

ROTFL!
You really should write a book!
Well, I'm in the same state as Camp Lejeune, but it's about 6 hours away.
Please tell your Marines that the job they're doing is greatly appreciated - and that I'll pray for their safe return. We (police, fire, & town hall) sent some care packages to a Military Police Battalion stationed in Irag. I got the address from the website Anysoldier.com.
Have fun on your trip - I hope you have great weather! Oh, just a reminder for you and Margaret - we want lots and lots of pictures! _________________ Stephanie, mom to

Hehe
We wound up with 12 boxes of stuff - 6 of snacks (trail mix, cheese crackers, slim jims, etc.) and 6 of toiletries. The troop we sent it to said they were about an hour away from any kind of supplies and were requesting lots of toiletries along with snacks.
I think we're going to send more boxes a little later - I don't know if we'll send them to the same one or pick a new group that may need it more.
Have fun on your trip! I hope you have fun. _________________ Stephanie, mom to
